This is the privacy policy for Stichting Rethink Wellbeing (“RW”, “we”, “our”, “us”; KvK number 89206126).

This privacy policy will explain what we do with personal data collected from our website, event signups, programs, mailing lists, interest forms, and activities, and why we collect it..

What data do we collect?

Rethink Wellbeing collects the following data:

  • Information you provide to use when you fill in an application, sign-up form, survey, or feedback form for one of our events, programs, or activities, this includes:

    • Your motivation for attending the event/program/activity.

    • Your educational  background or field of work, including your course, university/institution, phase of study, or career stage. 

    • Prior and current involvement in effective altruism (e.g. cause area interests or career plans).

    • Your native language.

    • The way you learned about the event/program/activity.

    • How you have engaged with related programmes or events.

    • Your career status and career interests.

    • Your location preference, when applicable.

    • Your preferences for which attendees you would potentially like to be matched with, or would prefer not to be matched with.

    • A host of different psychological measures to tailor our programs for you (e.g., Life satisfaction, productivity, value alignment, preferred types of support, formal diagnoses, prior experience with therapy, prior experience with wellbeing practices, and personality traits.)

    • Demographics: age, gender, etc.

  • Your CV, LinkedIn, Calendly, or other profiles/links that you voluntarily share with us, mainly when you apply to a job at Rethink Wellbeing.

  • Personal identification information (name, email address, phone number etc.) to reach out to you

  • If you contact us for any reason, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide Rethink Wellbeing with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Register online for our newsletter.

  • Register online for one of our events, programs, or activities.

  • Register online via any of our interest forms.

  • Voluntarily complete a survey or provide feedback via any of our communication platforms (including Whatsapp, Slack, Instagram, and LinkedIn) or via email.

  • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies. 

Rethink Wellbeing may also receive your data indirectly from the following sources:

  • Other (effective altruism) organisations or groups may pass on data you provide to them to connect us to you, depending on their privacy policy.

  • If you register for a joint event, program, or activity with an organisation we collaborate with, we may receive your personal information from them.

How will we use your data?

Rethink Wellbeing collects your data so that we can:

  • Send you our email newsletter with information about our agenda, events, programs, and other activities and opportunities.

  • Evaluate your application to attend an event, program, or activity.

  • Send you information about events, programs, or activities you signed up for.

  • Make (public) reports about the status of Rethink Wellbeing and the effectiveness and quality evaluations of our programs (such reports will not directly identify you, but we might use an anonymised version of your personal data when creating them).

  • Send you reports about your mental wellbeing before, during and after  one of our events and programs.

  • Ensure that content from our website is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your device.

  • Respond to queries you send us.

If you explicitly agreed to it in a form, Rethink Wellbeing may share the data you explicitly consented to share with our partner organisations and individuals so that they can reach out to you suggesting events and opportunities that you said you are interested in, e.g.:

How do we store your data?

Rethink Wellbeing securely stores your data on Google Workspace, Mailchimp, and Airtable.

We will store your personal data for a maximum of 10 years, during which it may be relevant for activities, updates, or opportunities. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data. We will regularly check the personal information we hold and delete that which is not necessary anymore.

Marketing

Rethink Wellbeing would like to send you information about events, programs, activities, products and services of ours that we think you might like, as well as those of our partner organisations. This will only happen if you explicitly consent  when filling out our forms or request it in a corresponding email

If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date by unsubscribing at the bottom of our newsletter or emailing us.

You have the right at any time to stop Rethink Wellbeing from contacting you for marketing purposes or sharing your data with other partner organisations.

What are your data protection rights?

Rethink Wellbeing would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request Rethink Wellbeing for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that Rethink Wellbeing correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request Rethink Wellbeing Amsterdam to complete the information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that Rethink Wellbeing erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that Rethink Wellbeing restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to Rethink Wellbeing’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability – You have the right to request that Rethink Wellbeing transfer the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
